Since 1988 Senior Artists Network (SAN) has provided exhibition opportunities, symposia, and networking to older Chicago area artists.  SAN hopes that fiber artists who are over 50 years old will answer its call for entries to the 2012 Members' Show. This is a non-juried, all-media exhibit which will be held this year at the Old Town Triangle Association headquarters. This venue can hold 60 pieces, and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. Entries should be a maximum size of 32 x 32". There is no minimum size. All that is required is the $40. membership fee which is good for a year and allows entry into the Fall juried show and the summer symposium.

Eligibility

Artists 50 years or older residing in the metropolitan Chicago area who are paid members of SAN for the year 2012 are eligible. (You are a paid member if you sent your membership check by May 1, 2012. Artists may exhibit in this show with payment of membership dues.) Each member may submit one piece which meets media requirements listed below.

2. Submissions should be postmarked no later than April 16, 2012.

Media Requirements

Paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media, photography, wall-hung sculpture and fiber art will be accepted. Unfortunately this gallery does not accept free standing sculpture, but can hang low-profile relief artwork.

You can assume your work is accepted unless SAN notifies you that we have reached our limit.

1. Artwork must measure no more than 32” on any side, including the frame.

2. Work must have been completed after January 1, 2008.

3. Work may not have been exhibited in any previous SAN art show.

4. Work must meet professional framing standards and be ready to hang, with wire firmly attached. No saw-tooth hangers please.

5. A maximum of 60 pieces will be exhibited, with a limit of one piece per artist. Art will be accepted for the exhibition in the order the entry cards are received.

Other Information

A commission of 25% will be taken on artwork sold at the exhibition. (SAN asks for 15% and the Old Town Gallery – 10%) Please adjust your price accordingly.

The Senior Artists Network is a not-for-profit organization committed to addressing the needs and

concerns of artists age 50 and older. In addition to the Members’ Show, SAN sponsors workshops, maintains a website, and promotes opportunities for artists to show and sell their work.
